Sheryl Crow is a Grammy-award winning vocalist and songwriter. She also actively supports various causes including global warming and breast cancer research. 

Along with husband, Bill Gates, Melinda directs the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which focuses on world health issues and access to education and technology. She was namedTime Magazine's 2005 Person of the Year along with her husband and the musician Bono.
